The Auditor-Treasurer is an appointed official and is the liaison between 27 township boards, 10 city councils, nine school districts, and neighboring counties with ties to county government. The Auditor is the County’s Chief Election Official.
This office handles property tax administration which includes calculation of property taxes, collection and monitoring of current and delinquent real estate tax records, escrow management, settlement of tax receipts to taxing entities, forfeited land proceedings and special assessments including ditches. The office reviews and certifies all property transfers and collects mortgage and deed registration tax.

Auctioneer:
Auctioneer License Application PDF ($20 fee) – Minnesota Statute 330.01 requires the auctioneers in the state of Minnesota be licensed. Application for an auctioneer is made in your county of residence. Licenses are valid for one year.

To receive your liquor license, you need to fill out an application for the permit type you need and Workers Compensation Form PDF, and provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance.

Transient:
Transient Merchant License ($150 fee)
Anyone who engages in any temporary or transient business, either in one locality or in traveling from place to place, within Renville County to sell goods or services is required to obtain a Transient Merchant License. The term “transient merchant” does not include a seller or exhibitor in a firearms collector show involving two or more sellers or exhibitors. The license is valid at one sale location only and not valid for more than one person, unless that person is a member of a co-partnership. The license is only valid in Renville County.
Tax Abatement Program
The goal of the Tax Abatement Building Incentive Program is to encourage new construction of residential properties in Renville County and encourage replacement of dilapidated housing structures that may not be suitable to live in.
